The missing ingredient from your next big expansion.

NOTE FROM MASTIN: We just installed our commenting system and it’s ready to go! So get ready to post comments below!

I’ll admit it: I’m a Game of Thrones junkie. And I can’t wait for it to come back in just a couple weeks.

I’ve recently enjoyed watching television again. I didn’t own a TV for about a decade – until a couple of months ago when we got Apple TV and it all went down hill from there.

I’ve really enjoyed watching Billions, Scandal, Homeland, Game of Thrones, Shark Tank and even Fixer Upper. TV has changed in the last decade – these new episodic writing styles have created a long movie over many seasons are pure genius.

And while I’ve enjoyed watching some of these brilliant shows, there’s something I’m reminded of.

It’s the idea of Spiritual Entertainment.

Where we read the books, the blogs, and watch the shows – and can feel that we have made progress but actually we haven’t.

Right now, after watching Billions I feel like I am a multi-billionaire investor who is being pursued by the US Government.

The entertainment is amazing, but it’s not real. At the end of the day, it’s watching someone else’s story.

I know that the same can be true in the spiritual world. You can read a book and have a temporary “aha moment.” But what counts are the actions we take afterwards. Too often the “aha moment” isn’t backed up with courageous action.

It’s noted, jotted down in a journal, and forgotten. And then the next book is picked up, read, aha’d and forgotten. And we can build up quite the vocabulary of spiritual terms, think we are making progress because we have aha moments – but when we look at our lives – not much else has changed. Why? Because books and blogs don’t take action for us.

At the end of the day, it is you and me who must act. Who must learn. Who must grow. Who must apply the spiritual knowledge.

Knowledge without action is worthless.

So, I have a very basic, simple question for you:

“What spiritual knowledge do you already know that you aren’t using?”

What if you didn’t need another book or blog, what if what you needed was to act?

One courageous action is worth a thousand of the wisest books. A lifetime of courageous action is one for the history books

The thing is, you already know what you need to do.

So, in the comments below – let me know: have you been doing too much spiritual entertainment and not enough action taking? What’s one action that you can take today to start the process of getting unstuck?

Have a great weekend and remember to take action & make it real!

Lots of LOVE,

Mastin

P.S. I’d love to invite you to come to Maui and find your purpose at my epic seven day Enter the Heart Retreat. There are only spaces for 30 folks, so make sure to apply now.

P.P.S. I’m coming to NYC, Asheville, Denver, ATL and Toronto for my UNSTUCK seminar tour this spring. Click here to RSVP. If you can’t make it out live, I’m also hosting a Global Live Stream on May 8th. RSVP here.

Grace within setbacks.

I remember in my early days I had so many ideas. So many dreams. So many wishes that I wanted to come true.

I had a thousand ideas and nothing to show for it.

And deep down, I was angry Because I knew I had something that I could give to the world. And not just one thing, lots of things.

Teachings. Inspirations. Stories. Experiences. Love. Ideas. Innovation. Connection.

These are the ideas that boiled within me. But nothing came through. It was like I was creatively clogged up.

I can remember living in Los Feliz, a neighborhood east of Hollywood, CA. It was a spot full of all kinds of artists. Visual artists, musicians, designers.

My business partner was a designer and musician. I envied his ability to create when I was too scared to.

We made a great team because I was so good at the business side and he rocked the creative side.

But my life came crashing down and it forced me to make a choice – embrace my own creativity or die. And I think, in the end, that is why my life fell apart – my soul wanted to create, but I wasn’t taking action on that deep desire.

Enter: CRISIS (aka a Divine Storm)

It all came crashing down. Who would have thought that just a few years later it would all come back and more – not by the efforts of someone else’s creativity, but by my own?

There was a time in my life when I would have said I’m not creative. I’m not a writer, a storyteller or an entrepreneur.

But, the truth is, that I am, and I was scared to death to admit it. And not being able to admit it ruined my life for a period of time.

Life brought me to my knees so that I got a chance to wake up to an undeveloped part of myself that was dormant.

An unexpressed artist is a sad and angry sight. But I got a chance to express myself and turn it around. It wasn’t easy or pretty, but I (by the Grace of The Divine) made it happen.

Are you an unexpressed artist? Are you holding back? Are you scared to death to be creative?  What are you ready to admit today?

Remember to get out there, take action and make it real!

Talk soon,

Mastin

Life is rigged in your favor.

It’s simple: life is rigged in your favor.

I know that sounds like it might be BS. Especially if you’ve been through hard times. Or if you’ve been hurt. Or if life seems unfair.

But stay with me. There is a redemptive quality to the Uni-verse. There are lessons to learn. And once you learn them, everything changes.

If you want to learn how life is actually rigged in your favor – today’s coaching video for you.

I know that you may have been through very hard times. I honor your courage for getting through what you’ve been through. I also know that you’ve come a long way and made many efforts to get past what or who has hurt you.

Now it’s time to take a huge quantum leap forward in your healing.

You may feel that holding on to the past is what will keep you safe, but actually holding on is the riskiest choice you can make. Because when you hold on to the past – you erase any chance that you can change.

Your soul works in the present moment. You are being asked to let go. You are being asked to forgive. You are being asked to find the lesson, change your behaviour and let the incredible blessings that this life has in store for you to find you.

It’s time to see how life is rigged in your favor. Click here to watch.

And remember – leave a comment below about how you are going to see that everything you’ve been through in some weird way – has been rigged in your favor.

Here’s some quotes that describe what I’m talkin’ about:

“Live life as if everything is rigged in your favor.”

– Rumi

“True understanding is to see the events of life in this way: "You are here for my benefit, though rumor paints you otherwise.” And everything is turned to one’s advantage when he greets a situation like this: You are the very thing I was looking for. Truly whatever arises in life is the right material to bring about your growth and the growth of those around you. This, in a word, is art – and this art called “life” is a practice suitable to both men and gods. Everything contains some special purpose and a hidden blessing; what then could be strange or arduous when all of life is here to greet you like an old and faithful friend?“

– Marcus Aurelius

Make it a great week,

The answer to “Why is this happening to me?”

A Divine Storm, as I call them, are moments in your life when you feel like life/The Divine/The Universe is against you. Nothing is going well.

You question everything and maybe even say something like “Why is this happening to me?”

What I’ve come to find, is that moments like this are powerful opportunities to grow.

Divine Storms are wake up calls.

They are not ushering in the end, but rather clearing space for what’s trying to be born in your life.

But – we tend to interrupt the process. We hang on to how it was and fear how it could be. And perhaps we slip into assuming the worst, instead of preparing for a miracle.

You see, when you go through a crisis, a hard time, a moment of pain – there is always, and I do mean always, a breakthrough on the other side.

And just past the breakthrough, the new awareness, the inevitable “aha moment” you’ve been searching for – comes redemption.

We live in a Universe that specializes in redemption.

We need not worry. We need not assume the worst.

But rather, make our aim to surrender our Will to Divine Will.

Instead of trying to make The Divine make sense, we release the need to know why things happen as they do and step into the trust that we are being guided in every moment.

And we choose to believe that what we are going through now is preparing us for what we desire.

You are not being punished; you are being prepared.

Prepared for more love.
Prepared for more impact.
Prepared to inspire change in others.
Prepared for more awareness.
Prepared for your dreams.

When we step out into the sweet unknown, we can release the thoughts of pending doom, or life falling apart.

We can choose to believe that when life falls apart, it’s not over, but rather the energy is moving, changing, shifting to reflect the changes in our inner world.

We need not fear the changes but embrace them with a feeling of sweet surrender that our Creator knows what’s best for us.

And in doing so, we can begin to find peace within transition; we can bring meaning to loss, and we can find recovery within our addiction.

You are being prepared.

What no longer serves you is being removed from your life, and new life and a new power is coming to you.

At first it won’t make sense. But soon, you will know why things had to be the way they were.

Until then – assume the best. Don’t stop a miracle in progress.

Leave a comment and let me know how you’re being prepared in your life for something even greater.

Make it a great week,

Mastin

Friendly universe or hostile universe?

I’ve spent a lot of time asking the question, “Who am I?”

And I’ve come up with all kinds of answers. I’m a person. I’m a writer. I’m a teacher. I’m a boyfriend. I’m an entrepreneur.

Then I went a little deeper.

I’m a Soul. I’m a spiritual being having a human experience. Or even, I AM.

But for me – the roles didn’t feel like the deepest truth of who I was. And also, the spiritual lingo about being a soul, or just “I AM” – SOUNDED nice – but I didn’t know what to do with it.

I’m a Soul.

Great – now what?

I’m a spiritual being having a human experience.

Awesome – what’s that mean? What’s the grounded action step there?

I didn’t know what to do with these definitions. It wasn’t grounded and actionable.

So, I kept on asking the question – and then one day… it hit me.

I know who I am.

I’m a decider.

I get to decide – what I allow, what my standards are, what things mean, what I put in my mouth for food, who I hang out with, if I write each day or not, to have a spiritual practice or not.

I get to decide if I’m a human being having a spiritual experience or a spiritual being having a human experience. I get to decide.

I may not always get to decide what happens, when it happens or how it happens. I may not be able to just magically think away disease with a single thought. I can’t just decide to have more money in my bank account.

But – I can decide how I want to respond to the stimulus of the world. Which influences my health, relationships and finances.

So, I’ve decided that I’m a decider. I believe in the Soul, I can feel it – but I can’t describe it to such a grounded degree that I can make the Soul actionable.

But, I can make deciding actionable. What am I going to focus on? What am I going to make it mean?

Is this the beginning or the end? Am I getting sicker or healthier? Should I eat the chocolate or go for a salmon? Do I want to watch Game of Thrones or write a blog?

And on and on and on the deciding goes.

When you stop to think about this – it’s mind blowing how many decisions we make in a day.

And how with each conscious or unconscious decision we create our perception of reality. And this perception ultimately will create evidence that it’s true (seek and ye shall find) – and then this evidence will reinforce what we believe.

Hostile Universe? Plenty of evidence for that. Will you believe it?

Friendly Universe? Plenty of evidence for that. Will you believe it?

Depending on what you choose – the outcome, evidence and path that your life will take could change dramatically.

So, think about something right now – a tough thing that you might be facing or going through. Maybe it’s a breakup, a dis-ease, starting a business, trying to lose weight or any ole challenge.

In the past – what did you make this challenge mean? What it the beginning or the end? Was it a punishment or a lesson?

And now – moving forward, what are you going to decide that this challenge means now? What could be the most empowering (yet not delusional) meaning you could give it.

I’m so curious.

TGIF,

Mastin

Stop getting caught up in drama that isn’t even yours.

Today’s topic: other people’s drama.

You get caught it in.
We all do.

If you wonder why, or how to extract yourself from other people’s drama, I’ve got a great message for you today. But first, some appropriate quotes on the topic from Deepak and Ellen:

“I teach people that no matter what the situation is, no matter how chaotic, no matter how much drama is around you, you can heal by your presence if you just stay within your center.”

– Deepak Chopra

“So many people prefer to live in drama because it’s comfortable. It’s like someone staying in a bad marriage or relationship – it’s actually easier to stay because they know what to expect every day, versus leaving and not knowing what to expect.”

– Ellen DeGeneres

The simple truth is that we get caught up in other people’s drama to avoid our negative feelings and problems.

Don’t let this pattern stop you from living your dreams, having the relationship you truly desire or friends who are uplifting.

This week’s video mentoring will teach you how to be drama free.

When you commit to a drama free life, it’s not a boring life. On the other hand, it’s an amazing life.

You focus on your stuff and stop judging others. You make time for your dreams. You get to know yourself.

You get to experience a different kind of drama, which is the drama of living your purpose.

Don’t let another moment be wasted being caught up in what’s not important. It’s time to stay in your lane, work on yourself and go after those dreams.

Let me know how you are going to stay in your lane moving forward.

Also, if you’ve ever left an unhealthy dynamic like this and gone drama free, please share you success tips.

Together we can grow into who we are meant to be.

Here’s to a drama free life. It’s time to pull the cord.

Lots of LOVE,

Mastin

This is how to follow your heart.

Do you have a hard time telling the difference between your head and your Heart?

Or – maybe you’ve “followed your Heart” in the past and been hurt – and decided to never do that again.

Or maybe you think that following your Heart is just a cheesy Disney theme that doesn’t work in the “real world.”

The good news: you CAN talk to and listen to your Heart. And no – you don’t have to drink green juice or go gluten free to do it (though, doing those things will make you feel better). And when you truly listen to your Heart, you can never make a wrong choice.

Here’s the truth: you are a Divine being. You come from a Divine Place.

And that Place communicates with you through your Heart.

I know that sounds like a big claim, and it is. But, you can and will create a relationship with your Heart, which is connected to All That Is.

If this is new for you, no worries. I’ve been teaching my clients for years how to talk to their Hearts.

The benefits so far: weight loss, better relationships, promotions, businesses started, fears conquered, love found, etc.

Why? Because anything is possible when you listen to and follow your inner wisdom. Listening to your Heart takes your power back.

The process to talk to your heart is called Kipp Heart Therapy. I’ve taught KHT to single moms, millionaire CEO’s, spiritual seekers, teachers and best-selling authors. And, it works.

It works because it connects you back to your inner wisdom. You don’t need to seek approval from the outside world. The real wisdom you are seeking is with you.

Kipp Heart Therapy is powerful.

Turn it into a practice. Do it daily. The more you do it, the more you can listen to your heart.

Oh, and in this week’s training video I will teach you the difference between really, truly following your heart and being codependent and putting yourself last. Because, in the past, when you’ve “followed your Heart” – that’s probably not what you’ve done. In fact, you’ve probably done just the opposite.

Make it a great week. And don’t forget to listen to your Heart.

Much love,

Mastin

P.S. Here’s the link to the Kipp Heart Therapy meditation.

Everything that happens is a blessing.

When you start to play a bigger game and grow – fear can get out of hand, and you can end up sabotaging your own success.

Why does this happen?

Because right before you make major progress, you come up against all the parts of you that want to keep you safe, the same and stuck.

There is a part of you that wants you to stay the same. And there is another part of you that desires to grow, to become more, to give more and fulfill your God-given potential

And those two parts of you battle each other. Each day, if we are diligent, we will make small steps of progress towards our potential and leave the comfortable realm of our current circumstances.

One pattern that can derail your potential in no time is taking the results of your efforts personally. Meaning, if you tried a certain strategy and it didn’t work out, it’s vital not to decide that you are a bad or worthless person and give up the attempt to try.

Do not assign your self-worth as a person to the outcomes of your actions. Outcomes are just that – outcomes. And outcomes can change with new action. However, if you decide that an outcome you produced is the result of you being not worthy or not enough or a “bad” person, the chances of you being able to improve your circumstances goes down significantly.

At the same time, if you decide that you are special, more significant or better than other because of a good outcome that you created, then you put yourself on the path of destruction because you are feeding a false sense of your ego and you will be humbled by life.

The goal is to not take the outcomes personally, whether good or bad, but rather see everything that happens as a lesson and a blessing.

When you can see everything that happens in your life as a blessing, you are on the fast track to spiritual awakening.

Perhaps, all of it is Divine. The good. The bad. The in between. All is sent for your growth, your benefit, and your spiritual evolution.

Repeat after me, “I won’t take the outcomes I create personally. I am a worthy person and Soul in the eyes of my Creator, and I allow myself to learn the lessons I am meant to learn. I will not judge what happens as a reflection of my identity as a Soul…”

Ahhhhhhh, doesn’t that feel good?

Remember, you are not what happens to you, or the outcomes that you create. You are an Infinite Soul in a temporary human body who has been sent to learn lessons, grow and become more by giving back and improving the lives of others.

So be it. Amen.

Have a blessed day, my friend. Choose to see the lesson. Choose to let go of the shame, guilt, and fear and know that in this moment – you are loved.

Make it a great week,

Mastin

Want soulful success? Do this.

You may notice that I’m in your inbox on a Friday. But you’ve only been getting emails from me on Monday and Wednesday.

So, why today?

We’ll – I’ve had so many conversations with folks who used to read the former incarnation of my blog called The Daily Love. They loved the daily emails. So, I’m upping the game to 3x per week.

A blog on Monday, a video on Wednesday and a blog again on Friday.

All free. All just for you. Fresh inspiration and motivation to bring your purpose to life.

Sound good? Read on.

Do you dream of reaching a higher level of existence? Maybe it’s greater success; maybe it’s greater abundance, love, peace, health, energy or purpose.

No matter what you dream of – getting to that level of soulful success requires one action, that perhaps, is the most courageous thing you can do.

What’s what?

The act of letting go.

Jenna and I recently had a deep experience of letting go. We moved to a new city.

We moved to find stillness. To slow down. To find peace.

Sounds good, right?

Well, here’s the thing about letting go – to use a scientific term, the art of letting go is the same thing as creating a vacuum in your life.

Websters defines a vacuum as: the emptiness of space.

And, let’s be honest. Space can be scary.

Why? Well, our fearful mind chatter will say that only bad things will fill that space. We start to future trip the worst case scenario and fear it with all our heart.

But, here’s the thing. Every expansion is life is preceded by a vacuum. Meaning, if you want to grow, you’ve got to create space for a new life to be born.

But, we fear the emptiness of space because we are looking to the future through the lens of the past. Not a good thing.

We’ve got to have the courage to create a vacuum and then choose to fill that vacuum with our vision. And allowing the energy of the Universe to pull us into new and uncharted territories.

What if the best case scenario was ahead of you, not the worst? What if you’ve feared the vacuum when it would be wiser to celebrate the vacuum.

As for me, I’m loving the vacuum we’ve created by moving. There is new energy, a new perspective, a new life starting to form and I couldn’t be happier.

I resisted moving for a long while, and now that I’m here – I’m wondering what all the fuss was about? That fearful mind chatter sure didn’t know what it was talking about.

It’s a new day, and I’m thrilled.

Now – over to you. What vacuum are you ready to create in your life?

Hint: it should kind of scare you.

And: you already know.

It’s time to make room for new life. Are you ready?

Have a great weekend,

Mastin

How to find someone who loves you as much as you love them.

I just got back home from a trip to Seattle for the Hay House I Can Do It Seminar.

And I was gone over Valentine’s Day and I missed Jenna something fierce. It got me thinking about love.

Do you ever wonder how to get someone to love you as much as you love them?

Unrequited love.

We’ve all been there. You open your heart. You let them in.

And BOOM – you get nothing back.

I’ve been there – that was most of my 20s. Just trying to find someone who loved me as much as I loved them. When your sensitive, open and on the spiritual path it can be hard to find a romantic partner or friends who are on the same page.

You’re scared to open up. You’re scared to get hurt, again.

Don’t give up.

Watch this week’s coaching video instead.

There’s nothing more that I want for you than to have truly rich, fulfilling relationships – both in your romantic life as well as with friends.

We are relational beings; we love to share our successes and failures with those we love most. If you’re like me, wearing your heart on your sleeve can be a tough road.

But, if you practice this skill – it’ll turn everything around.

Don’t give up. And whatever you do, don’t turn bitter or become a skeptic. There is great love, passion, connection, and friendship out there.

All you’ve got to do is this, and it will start to flow to you in the most perfect of ways.

After you’ve watched this week’s episode, leave a comment below and let me know how you are going to apply this week’s lesson. When you engage, declare it out loud and participate, life changes faster. And – there is so much support, love and community on the blog.

Also, if you’ve ever ended the unrequited love streak in your life, hit up the comments and let us know how you did it.

Together, we can grow into who we’re meant to be.
