The cure for procrastination and fear…

“I suffer from Procrastination and fear.”

That’s what Jennifer shared with me.

When I first read this….

I thought to myself… whenever I hear words like “I suffer from…” typically words that follow are words like:

– A heart condition

– Cancer

– Diabetes

– High-tone deafness

And YourDictionary.com uses the words “suffer from” in the following sentence:

“The illness your father suffers from is the same I suffer from.”

I was a little surprised (which rarely happens, because I’ve seen a lot of feedback and coached thousands of people)…

And I couldn’t believe Jennifer used the words “suffer from” to describe procrastination and fear?

Why?

First – let me say here… because this is the written word after all… there is no judgment of Jennifer.

Girl – I feel you.

The reason I was so surprised is because I’ve never seen (in over 10 years of doing this) someone describe procrastination or fear that way.

And, I really get you Jennifer… I get how it can feel to be stuck in procrastination and also in fear.

But, I have great news for you.

Procrastination and fear are not terminal illnesses that you have to suffer from anymore.

Do you know what they really are?

They are just patterns. That’s it. Nothing more.

And they are a specific kind of pattern that I happen to be an expert in.

Those patterns are called Survival Patterns and they exist for a good purpose.

And Survival Patterns can be changed.

You see, your whole body is designed to keep you safe and alive.

Your nervous systems thinks that if you stay in fear… you’ll be safe.

Your nervous system also procrastinates because if you keep procrastinating… you’ll be “safe”.

But… I know you want more out of life than to just be safe.

You want to thrive… to life life to the full.

You wrote to me Jennifer that your financial situation “sucks”.

I want you to consider something you may not have considered before – and see this as a second opinion.

Perhaps the reason why you don’t have as much money as you want is because you do not believe you are worthy of allowing money to support you.

And, perhaps you believe that you aren’t enough to be seen for what you really want to do in your vocation and career.

Perhaps you bought into the lie that you are not worthy… and do not deserve support… and that as you start to take action in the direction of courage to do what you love, to add value to others and help solve problems… to open up and be seen… that you will find that you will be more than financially provided for.

True abundance is falling in love with problems to solve in the world… opening up and allowing yourself to be seen in the processs and then allowing yourself to also receive back all that is good for your great deeds.

So, here’s the deal: you have to ask yourself if you are willing to allow yourself to receive support… and help.

And… are you willing to receive back all that is good, in the form of money, love, connection and praise?

Your hurt and your trauma that you believe is the cause of your financial situation is also a prerequisite for your Purpose.

Your job is to heal your pause hurt and then get busy serving others to do the same.

Jennifer, in the feedback form I asked “What’s one thing I could do to improve your life in the next 30 days” and you wrote…

” Reach out to be about my worries.”

Your wish is my command Jennifer.

I’m so proud of you. And so grateful for you.

And so excited for what’s next for you.

Poverty is not about how much money you have, poverty is a mindset and a belief set.

Seek out people around you who are doing well. Hang with them.

Focus on serving others. Read inspirational material. And most importantly do one thing you are afraid of each day.

Jennifer, you are seen… you are heard and girl… you are loved.

I’m so proud of you and thank you for writing in.

Because the true key to abundance is to discover your Purpose and then bring it to life.

You don’t suffer from procrastination and fear… they are just Survival Patterns that are keeping you safe.

But ships aren’t built for safety dear one, they are built to brave the storm.

You got this, Jennifer. Do it now. Do it messy. Do it afraid.

Five Awesomely Simple Steps To Turn Failure Into Success

Look – chances are… when it comes to your dreams, you’re most likely getting in your own way. The right mindset changes everything.

Everything…

Cuz’ when you have the right success mindset – that means your behaviors line up with your goals.

But, even high performers get their mindset messed up.

Why is this a bad thing?

Your life doesn’t flow. Dreams get put on hold. Doors close. Opportunity stops knocking. And – worst of all…

The limitations of your past become the possibilities for your future.

Not good.

So, if you want to end financial fear, if you want to quit the soul sucking job… or grow your business…  be in a soulmate relationship…

Get your` mind right.

Here’s five awesomely simple ways to turn failure into success:

1. Get Curious

Old thought: I can’t do this because…

New thought: I wonder what it takes to create…?

2. Start Small

Old thought: I have to do this all at once and don’t know where to start…

New thought: I can do this one small step at at time…

3. Be Specific

Old thought: I am going to love my body… (vague)

New thought: I am going to work out 5x a week, cut refined carbs and drink 1/2 an oz. of water per pound of body weight (specific)

4. Focus On Outcome

Old thought: I always self-sabotage because…. (discussing only the problem)

New thought: For this project to be done, it would look like… (with specific outcomes)

5. Dedicate Yourself to Life Time Mastery

Old thought: I’ve been doing this social media thing for a couple weeks and it’s not working. I’m not reaching enough people.

New thought: I’m going to master social media, always learn and it’s an honor to reach the people that I do now.

My advice to you is this:

Trade your limiting beliefs for curiosity…Turn major projects into microsteps…Turn unclear behaviours into clear action items…Turn vague visions into clear outcomes…Turn dabbling into a dedication to mastery…

.When you do this – anything is possible.

Your purpose is counting on you to do this.

And when you apply what I’ve taught you here… you turn any failure into success.And that’s awesome.

Sick And Tired Of Missing Out On Love?

Many times we wish and wish for the right romantic partner come into our lives.

We don’t seem to understand why it’s not working out with others. We end up in toxic, unloving relationships, and deep down know something better is out there.

The challenge is, when something better does come along, not to run away. After years of disappointment, heartbreak and unhappy endings, it can be very easy to close down on real love.

No matter what, don’t’ let that happen!

Remember, strength in the muscles of your body is created by your muscles being ripped apart, and then rebuilt. Your heart and your emotional intelligence and fitness operate the same way.

It is easy to close down after you’ve been hurt. It’s easy to throw a wrench into real love when it comes. I understand it’s scary, but WHO CARES!

Move forward in spite of your fear.

Move forward INTO the scariness of it all. Be courageous. Don’t let fear win.

OPEN UP anyway. The risk of not opening, in the end, is far worse than the risk of opening. Don’t let love pass you by. Don’t let fear win.

NO! Instead, let love win.

Open up, even when, you are afraid. Open up, even when you are scared of getting hurt. Open up, even when you don’t know what’s going to happen.

Listen to me: LOVE WILL PASS YOU BY if you always choose the safe path.

I am not suggesting that you open up to the first person who comes along.

No.

I am not suggesting that at all. I am suggesting that when you have a connection with someone, when you feel it, when you are so scared of how much you feel it, go in the opposite direction of your fear. Do not be afraid of the love you feel.

KNOW THIS: The right person will meet you. The right person will show up. But they can’t if you don’t open up.

Learn to value openness. Open your heart. Don’t “plat it safe”.

Don’t let the wounds of the past create a wounded future. No.

It can be different. Love can be yours. But first, you must be open to it.

Learn how to be more loving from your past pain, not how to be more closed. Don’t give up on love, no, give IN TO love!

How To Turn Your Impossible Dreams Into Reality

“If you have 500 things half done you’re not staying busy, you’re wasting your life. You don’t have the time to be distracted. Focus, take action… and you will overcome any block.”  – Me

Do you have an idea and are stuck figuring out how to create it?

Do you feel like you’re spinning your wheels, confused about where to start and might be starting to believe that you just gotta settle and just be happy with what you have?

Here’s the thing, it takes hunger to bring your dreams to life my friend.

You have a desire of what you want… and have a fire inside you that won’t be extinguished.

When you are alive with passion and purpose… your energy lights up everyone and everything.

The world needs your light.

I see people struggling to figure out HOW to build their dream business all the time.

If you’re struggling with the “how-to” of all this… let me share with you 5 steps that will help you take those invisible daydreams and turn them into your actual reality.

Step 1: Write Down Open Loops.

Open Loops are everything you want to get one either: now, later or someday. Everything that’s on your mind. Your mind is not a filing cabinet, it’s a creative machine. Get all the “to-do’s” off youd mind and into one place.

Writing down your Open Loops reduces overwhelm and gives you a place to being.

For example, if you want to leave your soul-sucking job and start your own business, you may identify an open loop as needing to write a plan of action, research your target market and connect with your ideal client to get feedback on the services you want to create.

Action: write down all your open loops in one place that you can reference weekly, I recommend the WunderList app.

Step 2: Desired Outcome

Be specific about what you want to achieve and “by when”.

State it in the positive and present tense. Write down the outcome that you want, not what you don’t want. Too many people spend all their life talking about what they don’t want and they wonder why they don’t have it.

Action: write down the outcome that you want to achieve and by when, such as your business making $50,000/year by Dec 1, 2017. Don’t get caught up in whether you can do it by the date or not, just set the goal.

Step 3: Your Vision

Imagine the day that your dream comes to reality. What does it feel like? What does it look like? Who are you with? Step into the feelings of it. See it crystal clear and create a compellng vision for the future that you are creating for yourself. Not someone else’s future… YOURS.

Action: write at least one page of what it would be like waking up Dec 1, 2017 and you’ve done it! Be as specific as you can be.

Step 4: Courageous Imperfect Action

How do you eat an elephant? That’s an age-old question with the same answer… one bite at a time… And if you are vegan…. how do you eat a Redwood Tree? Well… maybe not the same thing, but you get my drift…

Look at your open loops – put them in priority and grill down to the next specific action step that you need to take to get it done. Be specific. Make it grounded. Make it actionable.

Action: Identify your top/most important open loop then all the specific action needed to make it happen. Such as finally publishing your website, going on a retreat to get your business up and running in seven days or setting a boundary with a toxic relationship.

Step 5: Focus

As I just mentioned… learn to say no and set boundaries. Say NO. You hear me. NO is ok. Say it about 100% more than you do right now. Saying NO can be HUGE for your dreams to come true. Do it. Now 🙂

Action: Where are you distracted or spending time that does not serve you or your purpose? Start saying no to these energy drains – now.

You must create the space you need in your life to bring your dreams forward.

Trust me. And let’s get into action.

Follow these steps and you will leave behind any overwhelm, struggle, stress or any of that and move forward successfullt to make your impossible dream…. well, possible. And not just possible, a reality.

How To Unlock More Energy, Time & Unlimited Love

Well – I got you.

I recently went though a massive health transformation.

Ended my prediabetes and dropped 55 pounds in two months.

After years of trial/error and every fad, I found what worked for me.

How To Turn Wishful Thinking Into Excellent Results

Do you ever make a promise or set an intention and then find yourself wondering why you didn’t follow through?

Have you done it more than once? Maybe more than twice? Maybe an uncountable number of times?

If you’re like most people, then your self-help bookshelf (digital or physical) is most likely the “Zone of Wishful Thinking.”

It’s almost as if you just bought one more book or course; it’ll all change.

Books, courses and such without action are just Wishful Thinking Tokens.

Perhaps you have so many Wishful Thinking Tokens that you have resigned yourself that none of them actually work.

Well, the key to unlocking the power of the Wishful Thinking Token is to drop down into grounded action.

If you are like most people, you tend to assume that when you set your “intention” to complete something, that you will actually do it.

But, you most likely haven’t.

And you make it about yourself and why you can’t follow through.

Perhaps you assume it’s a character defect, or perhaps you think it’s because you are a bad person.

What if it wasn’t “your” fault? I’ve found that many times folks don’t follow through because they are at war with themselves.

There is a wiser part of them, their intuition/heart that seems to be at odds with the survival part of them, or their Survival Patterns.

The inner conflict between the intuitive voice and the Survival Patterns is where the tension of growth exists.

You are not following through because of how you are wired.

Without awareness and training, your Survival Patterns are much more powerful and louder than your intuitive guidance.

SP’s tend to react the loudest to whatever is going on at the moment, without much care for how it will effect you long term.

This is why you have a hard time putting down the sugar, the wine, the toxic relationship, etc.

Your SP’s are reactive to whatever it is going on at the moment.

Your intuitive voice is guiding you to a future you cannot yet see.

The reason why your self-help section, your courses, etc. aren’t working is that your SP’s have distracted you right out of taking action on them.

There is a payoff to procrastination: you survive.

Not taking action has a reward.

So, how to make the shift?

You must cultivate a daily practice to align with your intuitive voice and create “cues” around your home and office to remind you of what your intuitive voice is guiding you to do.

Learning to follow and trust your intuitive voice is like building a muscle, it takes time, and it hurts.

But, the reward of doing so it beyond what you can now imagine.

Get still. Listen. Calm the SP’s and reactive time.

Create cues to keep your actions aligned with the outcome that your intuitive voice is guiding you towards.

And remember, it’s not “your” fault.

These crazy SP’s are trying to keep you safe. But, they are messing up your destiny.

Take your power back, right now.

When you do, you will keep your word, be there for those that matter most and turn your shelf of wishful thinking into a pedestal of your destiny.

It’s time to keep your word, finally follow through and bring your destiny to life.
