Is the drive to just survive killing your life’s purpose?

Do you know what keeps you blocked from the success, personal freedom and life of abundance you want?

Not just fear… Not just “you”… Not just time… Not just money…

Let’s be more specific, shall we?

There’s just one thing that’s actually blocking you:

Survival Patterns™

Or… you can call ’em SP’s for short. SP’s keep you stuck.

SP’s like… distraction, procrastination, perfectionism…

and even talking about your SP’s more than you should…

even the awareness that you have SP’s can become an SP…

because then you are focused just on how many SP’s you have.

When you know you have an SP.. your job is to begin the process of healing it.

You don’t break your arm… and then just talk about how broken it is… and how you broke it… over and over again.

You get your butt to the doctor’s office, and you get a CAST. Your SP’s need a CAST called… your life’s purpose.

When you know your purpose, your why… everything starts to change… your drive to overcome and heal your SP’s kicks in.

You take all that self-help knowledge… all that “information” and it drops down into practical application… into real life.

In fact… you might “think” you know something, but you don’t really know it until… you’re DOING IT.

Knowledge without action is the same thing as not having the knowledge in the first place.

Knowledge is simply potential energy… it’s not until your activate your knowledge does it become kinetic or ALIVE.

So, if you are reading the books… GOOD.

f you are doing your meditation… GOOD.

If you are working on yourself… GOOD.

But let’s take an honest look at where you are in your life right now.

If you’re procrastinating, or in perfectionism, or playing small, or distracted all the time and not following through…

Your Survival Patterns™ are winning.

And here’s the thing… Survival Patterns™ create other survival things…

Survival jobs… Survival relationships… Survival romance… Survival income… Survival food habits…

Meaning… your job, relationships, income, and food habits are “just enough” for you to “survive”.

But, they are not at the standard that you see yourself.

When you discover your purpose and bring it to life… you upgrade from a survival job… to a fulfilling and abundant vocation.

When you discover your purpose… you upgrade from a survival relationships to a Soul Tribe of people who are supporting you.

When you discover your purpose… you upgrade from survival romance (aka roommates) to true love and passion.

When you discover your purpose… you upgrade from just survival income… to an abundant income that allows you to provide security to those that you love + the time/money freedom to travel and create unforgettable experiences.

When you discover your purpose…. your food habits are not just there to survive.

You raise your standards from sugar/wine and chocolate (or caramel popcorn) to food that fuels your purpose and gives you more energy.

To survive in this world is a miracle.

To thrive in your purpose in this lifetime is something you must earn.

Vision boards alone won’t do it.

To thrive in your purpose… you need to increase the amount of intentional pressure you feel.

Now… stress and pressure are two different things.

When you’re just surviving, you feel stress because at any moment you may not be surviving.

But, when you apply true intentional pressure in your life, that is when you grow and demand more from yourself.

The pressure to show up in bigger and bigger ways.

The pressure to forgive the unforgivable.

The pressure to show up and add value to the world.

These are good things.

Diamonds are forged under intentional pressure… the body gets sick under chronic stress.

If you’re going to be stressed by the day to day of survival anyways… you might as well focus on the tasks that create pressure and a similar sensation as stress.

It takes just as much energy to be stressed by thinking about how you will pay for food next week and how you will become more and live your purpose.

You might as well use your stress wisely and transform it into pressure that turns you from coal (survival) into a thriving diamond of purpose.

Dont Let Narcissism Stand in the Way of Your Progress

You may not know it at this exact moment, but if you’re procrastinating, getting easily distracted or trying to have a crystal clear picture and plan of how everything is going to work ahead of time, there’s a lot more at stake then you realize.

You cannot possibly know what tomorrow brings.

You cannot possibly have a perfect plan.

You cannot possibly have clarity before you take action.

None of this is possible upfront.

That’s why discovering your Purpose, bringing it to life and thriving in your Purpose is a daily adventure.

It’s a discovery process.

When you were born, your parents didn’t need to know what you would be doing on this exact day in your life to be able to love you, guide you and encourage you to grow.

Do you know what’s blocking you from making progress?

The fact that you think you need a rock solid plan to bring your Purpose to life… that will ensure a specific return on your investment… that is what is stopping you.

It turns out that all the advice we were told as children was given to us under the assumption that all we are is meant to survive, to get by, to exist.

Yes, survival is important. However, we are meant for more.

You are meant for more.

Which means, you’ve got to cultivate greater resilience and faith.

Survival is not where you are meant to stop.

Survival is a launch pad for your purpose.

And, what’s at stake is that if you do not get started now, then nothing short of your purpose and why you were born is at risk.

Do not look forward in fear, assuming the worst.

Do not bring single focus to your demise.

Do not assume the worst.

Start to cultivate thoughts of success. Of faith. Of resilience and of action.

You are not an entrepreneur because you bought a course on how to build a business, but never finished.

You do not have time/money freedom because you follow someone on Instagram who does.

You are not cultivating a spiritual practice by just wearing Lululemon, mala beads and having a vision board.

Your self-care routine is just polished up narcissism if you are not in service to others.

Your consciousness is not based on how many followers you have, but on how honest and loving you are.

Your maturity as a spiritual being is not about how much wisdom you can share with the world, but about your ability to fall in love with and heal your own wounds.

Trade green juice for compassion.

Trade mala beads for forgiveness.

Trade comparison for just helping other no matter your follower count.

Trade spiritual entertainment for small courageous action steps.

Trade being great for being real.

Trade the life you share on social media to the life you share in private moments.

Trade your “plan” for a daily match off with fear.

Then – you will be on the path of your purpose.

Until then, it’s just living vicariously through others.

But, this is your life. Your adventure.

It’s your time to dive in and do the work. Starting right now…

Remember to get out there, take action and make it real!

Take the brakes off and create faster results

It’s common to head towards a goal to start… and stop… and start… and stop… and start… and stop again.

Why do we do this?

The answer is simple, but not easy…

A part of you believes that success is a threat.

Pure and simple.

The work is to uncover why.

I call this the root cause.

You see, all of us have this human nervous systems that’s designed to keep us safe.

Growth represents a threat.

So, when our heart/soul/gut/dreams move us forward into a bigger, more purposeful life – our nervous systems cautions us from moving forward.

Because the future is unknown, so are the threats.

We assume the worst. We feel anxiety in our bodies. We procrastinate.

We try to do it perfectly to prevent possible death.

We get distracted by the latest trending cat photo.

Yet – no matter how much we try to plan, to control and to scheme the perfect plan, it never works out.

We can never know the future.

So, we try to improve our lives through various personal development models or approaches.

And maybe they work a little.

But, we keep taking one step forward and one step back.

Why?

We didn’t find the cause that’s holding us back.

We all have the root cause… something happened in our past that we assigned a meaning to that keeps us safe.

It could be significant like trauma, or your father could have been 10 minutes late picking you up from school.

It doesn’t have to be massive, or it could be.

Either way, when you find the root cause, you take a massive leap forward towards living the life of your dreams… a life of purpose.

What you’ll come to find is that in many ways, your trauma/cause was a is a prerequisite for your purpose.

To bring meaning, fulfillment, and purpose to our lives, we must learn how to bring meaning to the pain… and turn that pain into a way to serve others.

This is the path of freedom.

If you don’t know the root cause, you’ll start/stop/start/stop over and over again.

Not knowing the root cause is like having the emergency breaks on… and trying to move forward… you’re going to burn out before you’ve gone too far.

It’s time to find the root cause and release the emergency break so that you can start to accelerate on the highway of your life’s purpose.

If you don’t know the root cause or how to find it… no worries.

Dedicate yourself to the discovery of the root cause that’s responsible for believing that success is a threat and let’s put an end to the start/stop cycle and create lasting results.

It’s time to get off the hamster wheel of feeling stuck and onto the highway of your purpose!

Remember to get out there, take action and make it real!

Do you have more than one purpose?

Perhaps one of the most important questions you can ask is…

“What is my life’s purpose?”

And – the answers can be confusing. Like… really confusing.

I’ve always pondered why some of life’s most important questions seem to be unanswerable or unknowable.

What’s my purpose? Is there a God? Why did this happen to me? Why do bad things happen to good people?

There can appear to be no answers to these questions.

And – there appear to be no answers that we agree on.

One of the reasons I decided to create Claim Your Power LIVE is because I wanted to offer a simple solution and answer to one of life’s most important questions… the question of purpose.

You see, when you discover your purpose, you realize why you were born.

You become aware of your usefulness to the world and to your Creator.

Abundance flows.

But, if you do not know your life’s purpose, it’s easy to step into scarcity and lack…. never living up to your full potential.

One of the reasons why I’ve seen many people miss their purpose is because of a question they ask over and over again but never seem to be able to answer.

“Do I have more than one purpose?”

I’ve had over 40,000 students go through my free or paid training for my Claim Your Power course.

This question is a massive question.

And let me shine some light on this for a moment with what I’ve learned.

Purpose is not what you think.

We set goals to feel an emotion.

When we go for something… a new job, a business, a relationship, more money, losing weight, etc… we are not just going for the outcome, we are shooting for the emotion that we believe the goal will bring us.

Weight loss may bring us the emotions of self-respect, energy or aliveness.

Romance may bring us passion.

Money may bring us safety and freedom.

So, ultimately, purpose is an emotion that you cultivate within yourself and then share with others.

You’ve got to admit that you are in control of your life, your destiny, and your purpose and that it’s up to you to do the work to bring your purpose (aka your ideal emotions) to life.

You have very specific emotions that you’re aiming for.

So, you’ve got to find out what they are.

For me, my top two emotions are belonging and excitement.

When you discover your emotional targets, you begin to discover your purpose.

And, the good news is.. the emotional targets that your aiming for do not change over time.

I pretty much want to feel like I belong and am excited all the time.

But, what does change are the circumstances and the physical outcomes or goals that we pursue to hit our emotional targets.

So, when I am asked if you have many different purposes, the answer is no.

But, we must go deeper.

There will be many different circumstances or outcomes that will help you hit your emotional targets over time.

For example, when you are five years old, you have different goals than when you are 18, 35 and 70.

However, the emotions remain constant targets. So, when you think you have many purposes, what you are really asking is… have I outgrown my old goals and outcomes and I am unclear of the new goals/outcomes that will help me to hit my emotional targets.

So, the quest for purpose is really the quest for emotion.

That’s why it’s an internal process, far more than an external pursuit.

And, perhaps the most important part of this journey is to identify the blocks that are preventing you from moving forward and creating new goals, taking new action and expanding your growth.

You have one unique purpose, to hit your ideal emotional targets.

What has to happen for you to do that will change over your life.

Stay in rapport with your Soul and you will never be led astray.

Remember to get out there, take action and make it real!

Get your needs met

Chances are you love to help other people. Chances are when there’s an opportunity to help others you’re one of the first people to jump in and try to lend a hand.

I love this about you. I do.

Being of service to others is extremely valuable… spiritually important and just a kind thing to do.

BUT – there is an underbelly of helping others that goes undiagnosed… and can cause long-term, unintended harm.

And that underbelly is resentment… anger and frustration.

Many times… the dark side of the “giver” explodes after a period of time not feeling heard/seen or like they matter.

This isn’t a good look. When you give, and give and give… and don’t get anything in return… this can be the end of relationships… and turn what was a good idea/love affair or friendship into bitter endings.

Of course… there’s two sides to every situation, but for today… I want to speak to YOU.

I want you, dear giver, to understand… that many times you don’t get your needs met because….

Well… you don’t make them known.

And, chances are you don’t make your needs known… because you don’t know what they are or how to ask for them.

So, the first thing you’ve got to do is take ownership that you’ve played a role in not getting your needs met.

Then… there’s good news.

When you get frustrated… when you feel like this… there’s hope.

The bigger opportunity is that your life’s purpose is knocking on the door.

You’re being asked to find out what you need… and give it to yourself.

And then… have the courage to ask others for it as well.

And create relationships that bring you energy, rather than drain your energy.

If you want to get your needs met…. find your purpose.

And then dedicate yourself to bringing it to life.

When you know your purpose… when you bring it life… that is when you will get your needs met.

At first, it can feel selfish to ask for what you want… it might feel strange… it might feel out of place.

But, over time… as you embrace your purpose and begin to get your needs met in your relationships… this will become the new norm.

The truth is… the people in your life want to give to you… they want to support you… they want to help you… they want to pour the love on.

BUT – they can only do it if you let them in… if you make your needs known and ask for them.

Choose healthy people to open up to.

Ask for what you need… and then open up and let them in.

It is in giving that we receive… it is also in receiving that we give.

Your purpose will free you…

Open up a little today and let life support you.

Remember to get out there, take action and make it real!

Why “finding your passion” can be so hard

Finding your passion is hard work.

It’s something that can be super elusive and feel like it’s never within reach.

Why?

Two main reasons:

1. You are focused primarily on yourself.

2. You are trying to find an answer that is a moving target.

Cal Newport, Georgetown Professor and author of Deep Work and Be So Good They Can’t Ignore You says this…

“If you want to love what you do, abandon the passion mindset (“what can the world offer me?”) and instead adopt the craftsman mindset (“what can I offer the world?”).”

You see… your passion is something that has the wrong assumption… it assumes that the world should owe you something… when in reality… the name of the game is adding value to the world.

Furthermore… finding what lights you up… and what can serve the world is a discovery process.

There isn’t a perfect answer that will give you 100% certainty about what you passion is or isn’t.

It’s a discovery process.

Trying to figure it out too fast takes away the journey of becoming.

And, it’s impossible to know the answer before you get started.

The better question to ask is…

What is my purpose?

When you discover your purpose, you allow your purpose, and the emotional targets you’re trying to hit, to guide you.

Take your focus off of needing a perfect plan.

Take your focus off of just making yourself happy.

Dedicate yourself to living your purpose… and focus on just taking the next step.

Your journey to passion, to power and to purpose is a one-step-at-a-time process.

You cannot know every step before you take them.

All you can know… is take your next step.

When you know your purpose, when you dedicate yourself to making the switch from emotional debt to emotional wealth… that’s when you take your power back.

And, when you live each day by just taking the next step… you will be guided to your passion.

Make it your aim to find the balance between living your purpose, giving the world what it needs and finding your passion.

Decide to be in the present moment, and do not worry about the future.

Instead… just take the next step in service to your purpose…

trust that you are guided and then get out of your own way.

Remember to get out there, take action and make it real!

How To Get The Love You Want

LOVE… it’s one of those topics that has all kinds of excitement, desire, pain, hurt, confusion and mystery surrounding it.

And let me be clear because LOVE has so many meanings…

I’m talking about romantic love.

How do you get it? How do you keep it? How do you make it last?

For context… let me be clear… Jerry McGuire got it wrong… those three words he uttered ruined an entire generation of romantic expectations.

“You complete me.”

The only “thing” that completes you is your Creator. And… not even that is 100% true… what truly completes you is discovering your purpose and then living it each day.

First, you must know that you are a whole, complete and perfectly made being who does not need another person to complete you.

You are whole as you are.

Also know that the purpose of your life is not to be in a relationship, in fact… it’s the other way around.

When you find your purpose… love will find you.

You see – if you are looking for someone out there to complete you… if you think that someone else if your purpose… then you are setting yourself up for a rollercoaster of emotion and a lot of pain.

Why?

Because no person can perfectly love you.

We all have flaws… we all have unresolved hurt and trauma from the past… we all get scared… we all mess up.

And, if the other person is on the hook for your happiness…well that is the fastest way to kill romance.

Many times, people stop doing the very thing that made them attractive in the first place.

They give up a passion, or a goal/career and settle into the relationship.

It’s vital to understand that NO ONE can “make” you happy… except, of course… you.

So… questions for you:

1. Who, outside of yourself, have you assigned the power to make you happy?

2. How are they falling short in making you happy?

3. How can you start to take responsibility for making yourself happy, instead?

4. How can you let them off the hook for your happiness and instead thank them for all the good they do bring to your life?

5. What passions/gifts/goals did you give up that you were pursuing before?

6. What is one step you could take today to pick up your passion and get back to what makes you happy?

These questions are great if you are in a romantic relationship or not.

Remember… the purpose of your life is not a relationship… but a great relationship is an extension of your purpose.

Nothing is more attractive than someone who is doing what they love and is living their purpose.

Today, focus back on your purpose and do what makes you come alive….

…romance will follow.

Remember to get out there, take action and make it real!

live your purpose to make this world a better place

Are you ready to stop worrying about money and start getting your financial needs met effortlessly?

I’ve been talking a lot lately about living your purpose and how important it is.

Why?

Because discovering your purpose and bringing it to life is the most important work of your life.

Abundance follows your purpose.

Love follows your purpose.

Success follows your purpose.

Financial security for your loved ones follows your purpose.

When you discover your purpose, you connect to a power and an idea larger than you… and your Purpose is the one thing that improves everything.

BUT – there’s one important distinction.

Bringing your purpose to life is not a logical process.

And, it’s not a process that you can 100% plan ahead for.

It’s a mystery. It’s a discovery process.

And, it’s a journey.

When you start to feel the stirring of your purpose calling you forward into your life, you are being called by an undiscovered part of yourself.

You are being asked to grow, to mature, to take responsibility for how you use your power and you are being asked to have even more faith in your Creator.

Perhaps the greatest leap you will need to take in your mindset is that as you bring your purpose to life… as you start to serve others and solve problems… you will be provided for.

If you just focus on serving others… falling in love with solving a problem you see in the world…

Then you will be provided for.

The greatest leap of faith your purpose is asking you to take is to surrender the neurotic desire to survive and place your survival into the hands of your Creator.

And… for YOU to keep your focus firmly on how you can help others.

Simply put… if you make it your focus to take care of God’s children… then God will take care of you.

Another way of saying this is… life supports what supports life.

You knew this was the true nature of reality when you were born… perhaps you didn’t have words for it.

Perhaps you didn’t know exactly how to phrase it… but a part of you knew that when you bring your purpose to life and focus on serving others… that you have earned effortless survival.

This isn’t to say that you don’t need to be mindful, smart and strategic.

But, I am saying that you can be confident that all your needs will be met – as you focus on serving others.

Also, remember… YOU are also a child of God… and so make sure to include taking care of yourself as you focus on taking care of God’s children.

You know you are close to the path of your purpose when your ideas for the next phase of your life don’t make logical sense… when you are being called to do something that you’ve never done before… when you have no idea what to do next.

Why are you called to a purpose that is outside of what you believe is your current skill set?

Caroline Myss has the perfect answer.

She says that we are called into new territory because it’s a pathway that does not have any scar tissue from the past on it.

Meaning… you do not have to do a significant amount of healing in the direction that you are being called in before you can be of service… you can get to work right away.

The more emotional weight you have… the longer you have to wait to get going.

So… trust your visions.. know that you are being called to a bright and beautiful new purpose and do your best to calm and surrender your fears each day… and focus on taking simple/small courageous action steps each day.

Surrender your fear…. and defend your intuition.

That’s the goal. Instead of surrendering your intuition and defending your fear.

God doesn’t call the qualified… all are called… but God does qualify the called… and that includes YOU.

YOU are being called to live your purpose, to make this world a better place and to step into a larger level of being that you are currently living.

The reward for taking this leap is abundance, love, success and taking care of your loved ones.

The price you must pay is the surrendering of your fear of survival and a focus on falling in love with solving the problems of the world.

From that place… no one… and nothing can touch you.

Remember to get out there, take action and make it real!

do you have the power for your life’s purpose?

Power – it’s what you need to make anything happen… a dream, a vision… your life’s purpose.

But, what is power?

Let me explain…

Power is having enough energy to be able to direct your will, your choices and your actions to bring your greatest visions to life.

You can only have this level of power if you are focused in the present moment.

If you are harboring past hurt and focused on the past, you have less power in the present moment.

If you are worried about the future and are focused on the worst case scenario of what “could” happen, you have less power in the present moment.

The past is meant to be a teacher of wisdom, not a teacher of fear.

The future is meant to be a canvas for your dreams, not a canvas for your nightmares.

While it’s true that you cannot change the past, it is true that you can change how you relate to the past.

And, when you change how you relate to the past – you automatically change the future and what’s possible.

It all comes down to the present moment.

How are you spending your power?

Are you worrying about the future? Which is the same thing as planning to manifest your fears.

Are you holding on to the past? Which is the same thing as reliving it over and over again in the present moment and future.

Or, are you here… now… focused on listening to and being obedient to your intuition?

Do you have faith in your fear or faith in your purpose?

Are you planning and rehearsing the worst case scenario?

Or are you making conscious choices to bring the vision for your purpose to life?

How you direct your focus will determine the reality that you create.

If you are too attached to the past, you limit the power you have in the present to create anything new.

If you are too worried about the future, you have no power in the present to course correct.

Work to bring your awareness, your focus and your attention to the present moment and tap into your highest vision of your life.

Then, get about the business of bringing your vision and your purpose to life.

You have that power… if you but harness it on a daily basis.

May your internal authority of your life become more powerful than any external force and may you be faithful to your purpose, for it will never lead you astray.

Remember to get out there, take action and make it real!
